課程概述 |
Purpose: This course is designed to teach students in-depth understanding of
fundamentals of fluid mechanics. |
|
課程目標 |
Outline of course material: Basic Considerations (Ch. 1), Fluid Static (Ch.
2), Introduction to Fluid in Motion (Ch. 3), The Integral Forms of the
Fundamental Laws (Ch. 4), The Differential Forms of the Fundamental Laws
(Ch. 5), Dimensional Analysis and Similitude (Ch. 6), Internal Flows (Ch. 7),
and External Flows (Ch. 8). |

課程要求 |
Grades: Three Exams – 2 during the term (25% each) and a final exam 30%,
Homework 20%, (Material from the movies will also be included in the grades.)
Homework: Homework set will be assigned almost every week, and is due on
Monday before the lecture. Selected questions (not all) will be graded.
Students are encouraged to discuss with others BUT must write the problem on
their own. A zero grade on a particular problem will be given if copying is
found. Content of the movie will be part of the homework.
Homework Tutorial: Help session on the homework will be conducted by TA each
Thurs. immediately after class from 12:10 to 12:40pm. You are encouraged to
attempt the homework before the tutorial session and ask your question then.
If there is no question, the tutorial will not be conducted.
